I’m a mom. My husband and I had twin boys, born quite a bit early, on Thanksgiving Day 2015. I am the lone female wolf in this madhouse, and that suits me just fine.
Dan and I both love animals, so our house has been a menagerie for quite some time. We currently have two cats, two dogs and many fish.
I gave up my job as digital editor for The Post and Courier newspaper in Charleston, S.C., to stay home full-time with my boys. I began my career at the paper about two weeks after graduating from the University of South Carolina. I started as a page designer, then became features editor, followed by assistant metro editor. The digital gig was interesting, challenging and quite rewarding.
That whole not working outside the home thing didn’t last forever (for so many reasons), and I am now a veterinary technician assistant at Northwoods Veterinary Clinic. I was a client there for more than a decade and loved it so much that I begged them to hire me.
I’m a nerd and, to quote a friend, can be described as “a puzzle wrapped up in an enigma.” These days, you’ll mostly find me in scrubs or jeans, cruising the aisles at Target or BJ’s, or trying to find something fun for the kiddos to do.
